Remember, remember the fifth of November! As the autumn nights draw in, there's nothing quite like bundling up in a big winter coat and heading out to watch the sky explode with colour while warming up by the bonfire. Don’t forget to bring along a packet of sparklers and some toffee apples.
For our Reading residents and visitors alike, we've rounded up the finest fireworks displays in and around Reading.
Fancy watching fireworks dance across the night sky over the Thames? The Thameside Firework Fiesta at Mapledurham Lock promises to be one of the most spectacular waterfront displays in Berkshire this year.
Set against the historic River Thames backdrop, this Sunday evening spectacle on 3rd November offers a uniquely magical experience. The reflections of the pyrotechnics on the water create a double display that's simply unmissable. Doors open at 3:30pm with fireworks set to start at 6pm. Tickets are available here.
Royal Ascot isn't just about horse racing and fancy hats! On Saturday, 2nd November, this prestigious venue will host an extraordinary pyro-musical display featuring over 20,000 fireworks. Racing tickets include admission to watch the fireworks display at around 6:30pm.
Launched from the centre of the racecourse, this choreographed spectacular promises to transform the Berkshire skyline into a canvas of light and colour. The combination of world-class racing and premium pyrotechnics makes this a proper British day out.
Tickets are available to attend the fireworks only, entry from 4pm to 6pm. Adult and children's tickets are available. Children under five attend fireworks only for free.
Why not support a worthy cause whilst enjoying a brilliant display at Newbury Racecourse on Saturday, 2nd November? This family-friendly event goes beyond just fireworks, offering a variety of attractions to keep the little ones entertained.
The grand surroundings of the racecourse provide the perfect setting for an evening of autumnal entertainment, and you'll be supporting local charities too. Due to the popularity of the event and to ensure the safety of attendees, tickets are limited and must be purchased before the event.
In Wokingham, a torchlight procession will be led by St Sebastian’s band and various local dignitaries, leaving from Market Place in the town centre at 6:15pm on Saturday 2nd November. Organisers promise the sight of several thousand people with 500 flaming torches walking down Broad Street will be truly memorable.
The fireworks start at 7:30pm on Cantley Field and the display will be bigger and better than ever and sure to wow the audience just like in previous years. Buy tickets here.
Round off your fireworks weekend at Lily Hill Park on Sunday, 3rd November. Bracknell Rugby Club’s annual display has become a local favourite, combining sporting spirit with seasonal celebration. The expansive grounds provide excellent viewing spots, and the friendly atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome. For more information click here.
Whichever display you choose to attend, remember to wrap up warm and arrive early to secure the best viewing spot. Most venues offer hot food and drinks, but bringing a thermos of hot chocolate is always a good shout for keeping toasty while you wait for the show to begin.
